Before the ceremony on Stouts Island, Jackie and Nick met each other in the bride’s cabin at the edge of the lake.
I say “met” but they didn’t actually see each other until the ceremony. Instead, they stood around the corner from each other to read letters they had written each other. As Jackie finished reading Nick’s letter, “I can’t wait to marry you!” and she said, “auwwww!” Nick looked like he was almost going to turn around on instinct. She almost turned too, but a second later she laughed and said, “don’t turn around!” and Nick laughed and said, “I know! I wanna give you a kiss.”
A short while later, they walked down the aisle and finally kissed. The ceremony spot on Stout’s Island is right in front of the lake, which is gorgeous, but later Jackie said that looking at the lake made her want to jump in and go swimming – oh, did I mentioned it was a little on the hot side that day? It wasn’t bad in the shade, but the sun was out in full force. Since they were staying on the island the next day, they talked a lot about how great it was going to feel to jump in the lake. I hope they did because it sounded like a boss post-wedding day plan!
